<\/strong><strong>Trading System (ETS) surcharges:<\/strong>Three carriers have issues indications for ETS surcharges this week ahead of the EU\u2019s emissions trading system charges on shipping operating, which comes into effect in January, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seatrade-maritime.com\/containers\/container-lines-set-out-eu-ets-surcharges\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Seatrade Maritime<\/a> reports. Hapag-Lloyd will set a surcharge between EUR 7 and EUR 31 per TEU, depending on cargo type and destination, a spokesperson told the outlet, adding that it will recalculate the surcharge on a quarterly basis. Maersk\u2019s charges range from EUR 46 to EUR 137 per FEU. Meanwhile, CMA CGM is expected to charge between EUR 43 to EUR 90 per TEU. All carriers are expected to disclose final figures for surcharges at least one month before the regulation comes into effect, the report said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><a id=\"wwtt2\"><\/a> <strong>WATCH THIS SPACE #1 -<\/strong><strong>The U<\/strong><strong>AE\u2019s Port of Fujairah is considering adding more jetties to <\/strong><strong>serve bulk vessels by the end of the year<\/strong>, Fujairah ports\u2019 business development manager Martijn Heijboer told <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spglobal.com\/commodityinsights\/en\/market-insights\/latest-news\/shipping\/101223-fujairah-port-is-considering-adding-new-jetties-first-expansion-since-2017\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">S&P Global Commodity Insights<\/a>. The port currently has nine main liquid bulk jetties, and a VLCC jetty, and is considering adding one or two more, Heijboer says. A decision will be made as to whether more will be added by the end of the year, with construction expected to take up to 18 months to complete, according to S&P. The addition of jetties may allow for faster handling of loading and unloading cargoes at the port, as currently ships delivering or loading cargoes have to wait around seven hours before a jetty becomes available, S&P writes. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><a id=\"wwtt3\"><\/a> <strong>WATCH THIS SPACE #2-<\/strong><strong>Another major global transport corridor making progress?<\/strong> Asian countries including China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan are working on inking an agreement to create a new transport corridor from China to Europe through Iran, according to an Uzbek Transport Ministry <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mintrans.uz\/news\/yangi-xalqaro-transport-va-tranzit-yo-lagini-barpo-etish-bo-yicha-muhim-hamkorlik\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>. Iraq\u2019 Transport Ministry has received offers for the \u201crehabilitation and development\u201d of the rail networks in several areas across the country, the Transport Ministry\u2019 information director Maytham Al Safi is quoted as saying.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>MARKET WATCH- <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><a id=\"wwtt5\"><\/a> <strong>Could Iraq resume oil exports to Turkey?<\/strong>Turkey is said to have agreed to immediately resuming oil exports from the Iraqi-Turkish oil pipeline, following months of delays, Iraq\u2019s ambassador to Turkey Majid Al Lajmawi said in a statement picked up by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ina.iq\/eng\/29023-turkiye-agreed-to-resume-oil-exports-announces-iraqi-ambassador-to-ankara.html\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">INA<\/a>. The announcement was made following a meeting between Al Lamjawi and Turkey\u2019s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar. The question of how soon oil flows would resume was still up in the air as recently as a few days ago when Iraqi officials stated that they <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/edition\/logistics\/4cf9cec3-03d1-4d61-a1d9-97ab46c7d41d\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">had yet to be officially notified<\/a> by Turkey on the resumption of flows.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Iraq also says it wants exports to resume: <\/strong>Bayraktar confirmed that Turkish technicians have completed the procedures required for the resumption of flows along the pipeline, \u201cthe issue is now in the custody of the Iraqi side,\u201d he said. The influx of shippers operating independently of Western oversight has allowed Russian firms to make more than the USD 60 per barrel price cap imposed by the US and its allies through sanctions.
