The Suez Canal Authority\u2019s Canal Company for Mooring and Lights (CCML) and the Port Said Company for Engineering Works and Marine Construction will be transferred to the new firm, known as the Suez Canal Holding Company for Maritime Industries, Services and Investment, according to the statement. CCML was <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a94808c5-7a0c-4027-a786-804f2dc35954\" style=\"\">among the 32 companies<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> named on the Egyptian government\u2019s privatization list earlier this year. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Its responsibilities: <\/span><span>The company, which will be headquartered in Ismailia,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> will be tasked with \u201cmanaging and investing\u201d its assets, the statement said. It will also provide services like ship repair and refurbishing, the statement added. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"\"><a id=\"wwtt2\"><\/a>  <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Increasing levels of blocked funds are threatening airlines in certain markets<\/span><span style=\"\">, the <\/span><span style=\"\">International Air Transport Association (IATA) said in a <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iata.org\/en\/pressroom\/2023-releases\/2023-06-04-01\/\" style=\"\">statement<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">. The industry's blocked funds surged 47% y-o-y to USD 2.27 bn in April, the IATA said, while warning that airlines \u201ccannot continue to offer services in markets where they are unable to repatriate the revenues arising from their commercial activities in those markets.\u201d Nigeria, Bangladesh, Algeria, Pakistan, and Lebanon collectively represent 68% of the total blocked funds. The Platts APSI 5 Index, which tracks average rates of five Supramax routes in the Asia-Pacific region, plunged 60% from 2Q 2022 to <\/span><span>USD 10.2k per<\/span><span> day so far this quarter. The Platts KMAX9 Index, which tracks the average rates of nine Panamax routes globally, fell 52% to USD <\/span><span>12.2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">k per day during the same period. AE7, on the other hand, connects the port with 15 international ports, including Yantian in China, Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Tangier in Morocco, Salalah in Oman, Khalifa in Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali in Dubai.
