Good morning<\/strong>. The sukuk market is the star of today\u2019s issue, with updates on three separate issuances by Riyad Bank, Alinma Bank and Saudi Awwal Bank. Banks issued over half the volume of sukuk issuances globally in the first half of the year, and we have more details on this in today\u2019s Planet Finance.<\/p>\n

Also in the morning\u2019s news well: <\/strong>eXtra and Tas\u2019heel reported double-digit net income growth in 2Q and 1H, and Rekaz raised USD 5 mn in a seed funding round.<\/p>\n

<\/a> BUT FIRST- <\/strong>Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan represented the Kingdom on the second day of the Brics summit in Rio de Janeiro, emphasizing the importance of peace and security to advance economic growth and development in his speech to the summit on Monday. The address expressed Saudi\u2019s aspiration to foster cooperation across multilateral platforms.<\/p>\n

The situation in Gaza was also<\/strong> at the forefront of <\/strong>the FM\u2019s address<\/strong>, describing it as a catastrophic humanitarian crisis that \u201ccannot be ignored,\u201d the Saudi Gazette<\/a> reported. Bin Farhan accused Israel of \u201cgrave violations of international humanitarian law,\u201d calling its actions a direct challenge to the international order and urging the international community to take decisive steps to end the crisis through a two-state solution. <\/p>\n

ALSO- <\/strong>Bin Farhan met with Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira on the sidelines of the summit to review bilateral relations and other topics of mutual interest, state news agency SPA<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

AND- The FM <\/strong>received<\/a><\/strong> Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Makkah yesterday<\/strong>, the first visit since the Iran-Israel escalation in June. The two ministers \u2014 both shortly back from the Brics summit \u2014 held \u201cfruitful\u201d discussions on bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.<\/p>\n

WEATHER- Riyadh<\/strong> is expected to see a high of 40\u00b0C and a low of 21\u00b0C, while Jeddah<\/strong>\u2019s mercury will go as high as 34\u00b0C and as low as 28\u00b0C. Makkah <\/strong>will see a 42\u00b0C high and 27\u00b0C low.<\/p>\n

PSAs- <\/p>\n

#1- <\/strong>Proposed <\/strong>controls for violations and pen<\/strong>alties for infrastructure projects are up for <\/strong>public consultation on <\/strong>Istitlaa<\/a><\/strong> until 22 July. <\/strong>The regulation (pdf)<\/a> \u2014 drafted by the Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center \u2014 classifies some 117 violations into \u201cserious\u201d or \u201cnot serious\u201d categories, resulting in warnings or fines ranging from SAR 1k to SAR 50k, depending on gravity and repetition.<\/p>\n

ALSO- Proposed regs for street vendors drafted by the Municipalities and Housing <\/strong>Ministry are up for public consultation on <\/strong>Istitlaa<\/a><\/strong> until 23 July.<\/strong> The regulation (pdf)<\/a> proposes issuance of permits, identifies commercial areas, and establishes food safety guidelines.<\/p>\n

#2-<\/strong> Last call f<\/strong>or registering properties in Eastern Province: <\/strong>Property owners in the Eastern Province and Marat Governorate have until tomorrow to wrap up the online registration of their properties via the Real Estate Registry platform<\/a>, the Real Estate General Authority said in a statement<\/a>. This registration phase covers 139 districts in Al Ahsa, 80 districts in Al Qatif, and 11 districts in Al Jubail.<\/p>\n

#3- <\/strong>Investors have until 28 July to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the One-Stop<\/strong> Station PPP project<\/strong>, the National Center for Privatization and PPP (NCP) said on LinkedIn<\/a>. The 30-year Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain (DBFOM) project will add roadside service hubs across the Kingdom\u2019s intercity road network and will be tendered in three waves. EOIs can be submitted via the NCP website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/strong>PIF majority-<\/strong>owned <\/strong>events and advisory outfit <\/strong>Richard Attias & Associates (RA&A)<\/a><\/strong> is <\/strong>weighing a potential IPO as early as next year<\/strong>, founder and chairman Richard Attias told Bloomberg<\/a> in an emailed statement. The firm is 75% owned by the PIF\u2019s investment arm Sanabil, while Attias holds the balance. RA&A tapped US-listed investment bank Evercore<\/a> as an advisor.<\/p>\n

What we don\u2019t know:<\/strong> Attias stopped short of disclosing the listing avenues the New York-headquartered company is looking at or the size of the potential offering. <\/p>\n

Attias has reportedly been considering a full exit<\/strong>, the business news information service said, citing sources it says are familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n

About the IPO hopeful: <\/strong>Founded in 2010, RA&A has produced every edition of the Kingdom\u2019s star-studded Future Investment Initiative (FII)<\/a> summit, dubbed \u201cDavos in the Desert,\u201d since 2017. The firm employs over 100 people and operates in sports and public affairs consulting.<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/strong>Radisson Hotel Gro<\/strong>up aims<\/strong> to own some 100 properties in the Kingdom by 2030<\/strong>, representing two-thirds of all its investments across the MENA region, the company\u2019s Managing Director for Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the Levant Basel Talal told Zawya<\/a>. The group has started implementing a \u201cSaudization roadmap\u201d aimed at ensuring that 35% of its leadership roles are occupied by Saudi nationals by 2028.<\/p>\n

Sounds familiar? <\/strong>That the group is targeting the Kingdom to make up around 70% of its total MENA portfolio, Radisson\u2019s VP for Development Elie Milky said in May 2024<\/a>. The group also partnered<\/a> with Knowledge Economic City in February to develop two new Park Inn properties in Madinah.<\/p>\n

King Ab<\/strong>d<\/strong>ulaziz Airport sees over 25 mn travelers in 1H:<\/strong> Passenger traffic at Jeddah\u2019s King Abdulaziz International Airport rose 6.8% y-o-y to 25.5 mn travelers during the first half of the year, state news agency SPA<\/a> reported yesterday. The airport logged more than 150k flights over the same period, up 6.3% y-o-y.<\/p>\n

OIL WATCH-<\/p>\n

The latest output boost from Opec+ could tip global oil markets into surplus later<\/strong> this <\/strong>year<\/strong>, Bloomberg<\/a> reports, after the group blindsided traders with a decision to accelerate the return of more crude to the market. The hike<\/a> of 548k barrels per day in August will benefit consumers, who could see lower fuel costs in the short-term, but could weigh on producers in the long term. <\/p>\n

Even before the new barrels were announced<\/strong>, the International Energy Agency was already forecasting a 1.5% global supply surplus for 4Q. The market was already looking shaky, with Brent futures down 11% over the past two weeks and big banks like Goldman and JPMorgan forecasting a drop<\/a> toward USD 60\/bbl largely due to weak Chinese demand and economic hits from tariffs. <\/p>\n

Yes, but: <\/strong>Some analysts believe the real supply impact will be more muted. \u201cThe official return of barrels is one thing, but actual new supply versus the headline numbers is another,\u201d RCMA Capital CEO Doug King told Bloomberg. Diesel premiums suggest persistent market tightness and unless inventories visibly rise, crude prices may hold.<\/p>\n

US President Donald Trump\u2019s latest tariff threats are getting top billing in the foreign <\/strong>press.<\/strong> The latest victim: Copper, which could see a 50% tariff on all US imports. US copper prices soared to a record high on the news, with futures trading at USD 5.69 a pound. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the tariffs could go into effect as soon as at the end of the month or early August. <\/p>\n

Plus: Trump said tariffs on pharma products could reach 200%<\/strong>, though he would give manufacturers at least a year or a year and a half to get things in order. <\/p>\n

Oh, and the 1 August deadline for reciprocal tariffs? <\/strong>That\u2019s a firm deadline, Trump said, backtracking on earlier comments that suggested he could offer some leeway for talks over trade agreements to resume beyond the deadline.
