However, oil prices seem to have stabilized through May as the US and China stepped back from an all-out trade war.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Lower revenues could be problem: <\/strong>Funding for the Kingdom\u2019s capital-intensive gigaprojects is mostly top-down, which supports the big players, but the SME sector \u2014 which is huge and very influential in the non-oil sector in Saudi \u2014 is very important, EFG Hermes\u2019 Head of Research Ahmed Shams El Din told us <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/ksa\/en\/news\/story\/185d8996-0d64-4850-91f5-f4e43a06cbbb\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">back in March<\/a>. \u201cThat means that you can expect substantial delays with some projects. There will be a second round of recalibration and reprioritization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The Kingdom says it\u2019s ready<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/ksa\/en\/news\/story\/a3cc7b3a-e670-44c0-8e52-38689a7d0917\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">lining up<\/a> multiple strategies including \u201clong-term fiscal planning and medium-term frameworks\u201d to adapt to different scenarios for oil prices, Economy and Planning Minister Faisal Al Ibrahim said earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Saudi will also use the current drop in oil revenues and global uncertainty to \u201ctake stock\u201d <\/strong><strong>of its spending priorities<\/strong>, Finance Minister Mohammed Al Jadaan said on Thursday. The minister confirmed earlier reports that some gigaprojects are undergoing extensive reviews to optimize spending.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Al Jadaan also emphasized that government spending will continue to support non-oil <\/strong><strong>growth<\/strong>, even if the budget deficit exceeds expectations. \u201cThere will possibly be more deficit than we anticipated in the budget, but not significant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Aramco chief remains optimistic:<\/strong> Opec+ production hikes could generate an extra USD 1.9 bn in annual cashflow for Aramco at USD 60 per barrel, CEO Amin Nasser said earlier this month.
