Cabinet extends labor dispute measures + signs off on building code amendments:<\/strong> The Council of Ministers signed off during its weekly meeting yesterday \u2014 chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman \u2014 on amendments to the Saudi Building Code and an extension of labor dispute resolution rules for an additional year, state news agency SPA<\/a> reports. <\/p>\n

#1- Cabinet agreed to extend by one year a process to amicably resolve labor disputes in the Kingdom.<\/strong> The mechanism, introduced in 2018<\/a>, requires that labor disputes must go through the Human Resources and Social Development\u2019s amicable settlement department before being escalated to the country\u2019s courts. The department has a window of 21 days to reach an amicable settlement before the case can be submitted to labor courts. <\/p>\n

#2- Saudi Building Code:<\/strong> The ministers also signed off on an amendment to the Kingdom\u2019s Building Code mandating that an occupancy certificate is required to fully \u201cactivate\u201d electricity amenities. <\/p>\n

Also approved:<\/strong> An agreement with the World Bank for a multi-donor trust fund focused on digital development, as well as international partnerships with the likes of Zambia, Slovenia and Thailand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
