This comes nearly two weeks after the Cabinet <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/ksa\/en\/news\/story\/e644d323-2382-4250-8c30-ed83b1dbbecd\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">approved<\/a> the regulations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>At the heart of it, the STA will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be in charge of <strong>domestic and foreign marketing campaigns<\/strong> to promote the Kingdom\u2019s tourist attractions;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Set up <strong>marketing offices<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Work with the <strong>private sector<\/strong> on improving the Kingdom\u2019s tourism product;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Propose investments<\/strong> to the Tourism Ministry that would enhance the experience of visitors. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ALSO)<\/strong> The STA will also create a periodically updated <strong>database of the Kingdom\u2019s tourist <\/strong><strong>attractions, products, services and events<\/strong>. It will also be tasked with <strong>promoting Umrah<\/strong> and will <strong>survey visitor experiences<\/strong> and determine priorities and challenges that could face tourists and share them with the Tourism Ministry. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>And more: <\/strong>The STA can propose policies and necessary steps to revamp tourist sites and destinations if necessary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>BACKGROUND- <\/strong>The Kingdom <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/ksa\/en\/news\/story\/b2cfbf88-b196-46f7-9411-82d0485051e6\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">was among<\/a> the world\u2019s best-performing destinations for tourist arrivals in 2023 in comparison with 2019, welcoming 56% more international visitors, according to the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/webunwto.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/s3fs-public\/2024-01\/barometer-turism-data-ppt-jan24.pdf?VersionId=ua6xuwZCeveZWEzbIFVP5eXUmGszXhXs\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">World Tourism Barometer report (pdf)<\/a> by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) for January. It ranked first on the list of \u201cbest-performing large destinations\u201d when measured by volume or the growth in number of arrivals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The target<\/strong><strong>-<\/strong>The Tourism Ministry <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/ksa\/en\/news\/story\/4d43f6ce-8ecc-41b8-8135-0da085f9952c\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">recently more than doubled its tourism target for 2030<\/a>, hoping now to be host to 150 mn tourist trips after it hit last year an earlier target of 100 mn ahead of plan.
