The Industrial Production Index (IPI) rose 8.9% y-o-y in October<\/strong>, supported by growth across mining and quarrying, manufacturing, and utilities, according to preliminary data (pdf)<\/a> from the General Authority for Statistics.<\/p>\n

The mining and quarrying sector recorded the strongest performance<\/strong>, rising 11.5% y-o-y during the month as the Kingdom\u2019s oil output increased to 10 mn bbl \/ d, up from 8.9 mn bbl \/ d in October 2024.<\/p>\n

Manufacturing activity followed, with a 5.5% y-o-y increase<\/strong>, driven by an 8% rise in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products and an 8.1% uptick in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products. The sub-index of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply grew 5.1% y-o-y during the month, while the sub-index of water supply, sewage, waste management, and remediation activities increased 8.5% y-o-y.<\/p>\n

MEANWHILE- <\/strong>The oil activities index climbed 10.8% y-o-y in October, while the non-oil activities index posted a 4.4% y-o-y increase.<\/p>\n
