Good morning, all. <\/strong>It\u2019s another morning with missiles and drones flying over the Gulf and smoke taking over the capital after the latest round of attacks targeting the Kingdom. <\/p>\n

The <\/strong>most significant development overnight is the drone attack on the US embassy in <\/strong>Riyadh<\/strong>, which resulted<\/a> in a \u201climited fire and minor material damage.\u201d The embassy then told<\/a> American citizens in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dhahran to \u201cshelter in place.\u201d More blasts were heard near the capital\u2019s diplomatic quarter until 3am. <\/p>\n

Wait for the US response: <\/strong>A White House correspondent said<\/a> Trump told her \u201cyou\u2019ll find soon what the retaliation will be for the attack on the embassy and the US service members killed.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/a> This came shortly after the US State Department <\/strong>urged<\/a><\/strong> Americans to depart over a dozen <\/strong>countries in the region<\/strong>, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and Oman, citing \u201cserious safety risks.\u201d But with airspace closed and flights restricted, it may prove difficult for Americans to leave the region. <\/p>\n

Speaking of flight restriction: <\/strong>Several Riyadh-bound flights are either in a holding position or on their way back to their origin following the attack on the embassy. <\/p>\n

The embassy wasn\u2019t the only facility targeted in the Kingdom over the past 24 hours: <\/strong>Two Iranian drones targeted the Ras Tanura refinery, halting operations<\/a> after interception debris fell near the facility, causing a fire.<\/p>\n

Further from home: <\/strong>The US embassy in Kuwait, too, was struck by drones; Iran officially announced it has closed the Strait of Hormuz; and the US says<\/a> its \u201chardest hits are yet to come,\u201d promising that the \u201cnext phase will be even more punishing on Iran than it is right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
