PIF-owned<\/strong> Riyadh Air <\/strong>prepares to launch its daily flights to London <\/strong>Heathrow on 26 October<\/strong>, the fund said in a press release<\/a> on Thursday. The London route will see flights departing Riyadh at 3:15am and landing in Heathrow at 7:30am, with the return leg leaving London at 9:30am and arriving back in Riyadh at 7:15pm.<\/p>\n

The launch comes as the airline prepares to launch full operations in 2025<\/strong>, with its initial flights operated on a Boeing 787-9 aircraft named Jamila ahead of new aircraft deliveries from Boeing. It also unveiled its new loyalty program Sfeer to provide draw customers with benefits and offers \u2014 with details of the program yet to be announced.<\/p>\n

Big plans ahead:<\/strong> The Kingdom\u2019s new airline voiced plans<\/a> back in June to serve 100 cities by 2030, aiming to add a destination every two months once it\u2019s operational. The airline plans to open a Dubai route next, with more destinations to be revealed in the upcoming weeks for winter 2025 and summer 2026.<\/p>\n

REMEMBER-<\/strong> Despite global supply chain snags, the airline \u201cremains confident that [its] launch will stay on schedule, with aircraft deliveries and operations progressing as planned,\u201d a representative told EnterpriseAM last month<\/a>. Riyadh Air expects to receive <\/a>one new plane a month<\/a> from Boeing over the next year \u2013 with some 182 aircraft on order from Boeing and Airbus.<\/p>\n

Flagship carrier Saudia operated its first direct passenger flight from Riyadh to <\/strong>Moscow <\/strong>on Friday<\/strong>, in partnership with the Saudi Tourism Authority and the Air Connectivity Program, it said on X<\/a> on Friday. The airline announced in June<\/a> it will launch three weekly round-trip flights to Moscow\u2019s Sheremetyevo Airport starting in October.<\/p>\n

MEANWHILE-<\/strong> Flynas is set to launch a Jeddah-Moscow route starting on 23 December, running three-weekly flights between Jeddah\u2019s King Abdulaziz International Airport and Moscow\u2019s Vnukovo International Airport, it said on LinkedIn<\/a>.
