BlackRock sticks to pro-risk stance: <\/strong>BlackRock is remaining risk-on as it looks ahead towards the resumption of Fed\u2019s easing cycle after last week\u2019s rate cut<\/a>, which is expected to support US stocks and spur ongoing gains across the AI sector, according to its latest investment note<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Investors who stayed the <\/strong>course through April\u2019s tariff-driven sell-off have been rewarded<\/strong>, with global equities staging a sharp rebound, BlackRock says. The firm argues that \u201cimmutable economic laws\u201d \u2014 as supply chains remain to an extent intact \u2014 curbed the fallout from trade tensions, paving the way for risk assets to rally.<\/p>\n

US stocks have led the charge<\/strong>, recovering from the tariff-induced sell-off at the start of the year. The S&P 500 is up 14% y-t-d, the Nasdaq 17%, and the Russell 2000 has broken past its 2024 peak after the Fed\u2019s rate cut last week<\/a>, the Financial Times<\/a> reports. The MSCI All Country World index has hit a record, while emerging markets have outperformed developed peers.<\/p>\n

Credit has joined the party<\/strong>, with spreads on high-grade US corporates now at their tightest since 1998. In Europe, some French companies are borrowing more cheaply than their government, underscoring just how far investors have chased yield. \u201cIt\u2019s fair to say you\u2019ve never been paid less to take risk,\u201d one asset manager told the FT.<\/p>\n

AI boom offsetting spending slowdown: <\/strong>BlackRock points to AI buildout and infrastructure as \u201cmega forces\u201d offsetting a slowdown in consumption and anchoring returns, with the tech sector accounting for over 40% of total return and a similar share of earnings growth, according to LSEG data. Corporate investment in data centers and chip plants is supporting US GDP growth, even as household spending cools. These durable shifts, the firm says, are replacing traditional macro anchors.<\/p>\n

But valuations are stretched: <\/strong>Nvidia, Alphabet, and other AI giants have powered the gains, raising concerns over concentration risk. BlackRock cautions that further upside will hinge on productivity-driven earnings growth, not multiple expansion. \u201cEarnings, not valuations, will drive equities higher,\u201d the report (pdf)<\/a> says.<\/p>\n

Bond markets are flashing warning signs: <\/strong>Long-term yields have jumped to multi-decade highs<\/a> in Japan, France, and the UK as fiscal concerns dominate. In the US, the yield curve has steepened despite Fed cuts, with investors focused on the tension between taming inflation and containing ballooning debt.<\/p>\n

The inflation picture is equally complicated:<\/strong> Goods prices are rising again as tariffs feed through. BlackRock sees a \u201clucky alignment\u201d \u2014 where \u2014 equities broaden beyond AI while yields ease on a softer labor market \u2014 as its baseline scenario, but warns the Fed faces tough trade-offs if inflation stays high.<\/p>\n

Private markets are playing a bigger role in this landscape<\/strong>, with companies looking to them for funding as IPOs are pushed back. BlackRock highlights infrastructure equity and private credit as areas where investors can still capture attractive returns relative to public markets.<\/p>\n

Tactically, the firm is overweight on US and Japan equities<\/strong>, and favors emerging markets over developed peers on select exposures. It remains underweight on global investment-grade credit, given wafer-thin spreads, but likes infrastructure credit and short-term, inflation-linked bonds as hedges against tariff-fueled price pressures.<\/p>\n

Academ<\/a><\/strong>y of Learning<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s board recommended raising the firm\u2019s capital by 50% capital to <\/strong>SAR 90 mn<\/strong> to support its expansion plans, it said in a Tadawul disclosure<\/a>. The increase \u2014 pending regulatory approvals \u2014 will be executed by granting one bonus share for each two existing ones, with the company tapping SAR 30 mn of retained earnings.<\/p>\n

ALSO- The <\/strong>board pushed for the distribution of SAR 9 mn in dividends for the FY ending <\/strong>on 30 June 2025 at SAR 0.1 apiece<\/strong>, according to a separate disclosure to Tadawul<\/a>. The distribution date has yet to be determined.<\/p>\n
