As the war continues to disrupt oil supply in the Gulf, and since losing its key member (the UAE), Opec+ <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/egypt\/2026\/05\/03\/efg-hermes-to-lead-misr-life-ins-20-stake-sale\/\" style=\"\">agreed to raise oil output<\/a> by 188k bbl \/ d in June. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The US-Iran truce still holds, however, according to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.<\/strong> On Wednesday, Trump <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/egypt\/2026\/05\/06\/credit-agricole-matches-state-bank-benchmark-to-defend-deposit-portfolio\/\" style=\"\">announced<\/a> a \u201cshort\u201d pause on US efforts to escort ships out of the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Tehran is still reviewing Washington\u2019s response to its latest peace proposal as Axios reports the two sides are <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/egypt\/2026\/05\/06\/inflation-eases-in-april-ntra-greenlights-price-hikes-for-select-telecom-packages\/\" style=\"\">closing in<\/a> on a one-page, 14-point memorandum to end the war in the Gulf. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>IN THE BUSINESS PRESS- <\/strong>Berkshire Hathaway\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/egypt\/2026\/05\/03\/finmin-caps-sovereign-guarantees-at-egp-560-bn\/\" style=\"\">first post-Buffett annual meeting<\/a> on Sunday dominated the business pages.
