The anticipated move is part of the government\u2019s plan to have energy prices reach cost recovery levels by the end of the year. The fuel pricing committee last raised fuel prices in October, bumping up bills by 8-17% in what was the third and final fuel hike of 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- <\/strong><strong>Egypt is set to resume LNG <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/3c493bc2-01c3-4111-a3c9-fc4029d65909\/four-lng-shipments-will-be-landing-in-egypt-soon\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">imports<\/a><\/strong><strong> in April <\/strong>thanks to lower global gas prices and waning European demand. The country is expected to receive four LNG shipments by April as it looks to build up a strategic gas reserve, leveraging its newly secured infrastructure to sustain operations and meet growing demand. The country is also expected to receive five or six shipments per month over summer to meet rising demand during the period.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#3- Scatec <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/cf3f9eb3-4f44-4e37-91d1-38c3c42143e3\/scatec-inks-ppa-with-egyptalum-for-1.1-gw-solar-plant\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">inked<\/a><\/strong><strong> a 25-year power purchase agreement with EgyptAlum <\/strong>for its 1.1 GW solar plant and 200 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Naga Hammadi. The Finance Ministry will back EgyptAlum\u2019s financial commitments with Scatec under the newly signed agreement, after the decision was <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a12ee8ac-75bf-488b-a4eb-2a1d2c67bb15\/ci-capital-on-track-for-ksa-expansion-with-riyadh-office-before-the-end-of-1h-2025\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">greenlit<\/a> by the House in January. Among these plans:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sterlite Power is mulling a <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/17d4eae9-8592-4210-8203-1120d5c3effc\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">USD 5-6 bn electricity grid<\/a><\/strong> <strong> for green hydrogen projects <\/strong>aimed at enhancing Egypt\u2019s energy infrastructure and supporting the country's transition toward clean energy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>TCI Sanmar wants to <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/03cbaa98-63e3-4dbf-91f9-c762f268fb6a\/indian-chemicals-player-tci-sanmar-to-invest-usd-300-mn-in-egypt\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">invest<\/a><\/strong><strong> an additional USD 300 mn<\/strong> <strong>here<\/strong>, bringing its total investments in the country to around USD 2 bn. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Lulu Group wants to open more branches, while Ocior Energy is looking to ramp up its investments<\/strong> in Egypt over the coming period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- China\u2019s SBH Kibing Solar New Energy is looking to <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/78263091-c91d-4d9b-883c-81c51a8dad9d\/chinese-glass-maker-xinyi-wants-to-set-up-a-usd-700-mn-solar-panel-glass-factory-in-egypt\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">set up<\/a><\/strong><strong> a USD 700 mn solar panel glass <\/strong><strong>manufacturing facility <\/strong>in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The plant \u2014 which will be built over two phases \u2014 is expected to produce 1.5 mn tons of solar panel glass and 1.1 mn tons of high-purity silica sand \u2014 a component used in the production of solar glass \u2014 annually. The majority of output will be exported.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>LOGISTICS-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The US <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a2849527-93e4-4bf3-82d3-20994d365f57\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">launched<\/a><\/strong><strong> an investigation into global maritime chokepoints, including the Suez <\/strong><strong>Canal<\/strong>, to assess whether foreign governments or shipping operators are creating conditions unfavorable to US shipping and trade. The Suez Canal is a focal point of concern for the US because of its narrow width, shallow depth, and security risks stemming from ongoing conflicts, including Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping. The US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) is seeking comments until 13 May regarding the causes of constraints across the checkpoints.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">AROUND THE WORLD IN SEVEN DAYS- <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ent.news\/2025\/3\/1728.jpg?ssl=1\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>A renewed war and a partial peace agreement dominated headlines this <\/strong><strong>week<\/strong>, with Israel shattering its fragile ceasefire agreement with Hamas after bombarding Gaza, Trump nudging Russia and Ukraine toward a partial truce, and the US launching strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Israel <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/dd485180-2771-4681-9a99-07c30fa3b812\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">launched<\/a><\/strong><strong> a limited ground operation in Gaza on Wednesday<\/strong>, with troops reoccupying areas outside population centers. Cook until browned and fragrant.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing all the ingredients together in a bowl and set aside.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the butter sauce by melting the butter in a pan over low heat. When melted, add the paprika and dried mint. Stir for 30 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble the dish by mixing the boiled pasta with the meat sauce, then spoon the garlicky yogurt on top. Drizzle with the warm, spiced butter.
