Israel blamed the attack on Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Jordan\u2019s King Abdullah instead <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Egy.Pres.Spokesman\/posts\/pfbid02faBwjZHAvxFgW81MFvWL8vFdq5q8ukaJpNVNCjkiZ1MFbG1E357BSHYatvw5ae1Xl\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">made his way to Cairo<\/a>, where he met with El Sisi yesterday. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>HERE AT HOME, THERE WERE ALSO PLENTY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTS-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"> <strong>#1- The government is looking to expand its IMF loan program<\/strong> and is reportedly in talks with the IMF to raise its USD 3 bn loan program <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/cd3e36a4-25a3-4129-9e86-f88ce45ca113\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">to more than USD 5 bn<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- The IMF expects our budget deficit to increase to <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/db693a78-d7f5-4bd1-8c9c-06ec1682f83b\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">10.7% of GDP<\/a><\/strong><strong> this year<\/strong> from an estimated 4.6% the previous year. The IMF had projected a 9.2% deficit this fiscal year in its previous forecast in April.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#3- Banks in Egypt <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/9f85714c-7acb-4aab-bfe4-78099b7ac5ce\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">began imposing<\/a><\/strong><strong> strict new instructions from the Central Bank of <\/strong><strong>Egypt (CBE) on credit card use for FX transactions<\/strong> at home and abroad. The three-year securities were priced at a 3.51% annual rate, lower than the yield on USD-denominated debt. The proceeds will be used to finance the country\u2019s sustainable development goals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- The government expects to borrow at least USD 1.5 bn between now and the end of <\/strong><strong>the year<\/strong>: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/cd3e36a4-25a3-4129-9e86-f88ce45ca113\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Planned borrowing<\/a> includes the USD 500 mn issuances of CNY-denominated bonds and JPY-denominated bonds in November. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>\u2026and wants to secure as much as USD 3 bn in fresh debt financing by the end of the <\/strong><strong>fiscal year<\/strong> through bond issuances and international loans, a senior Finance Ministry official <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ab54f077-c5c2-4205-93a9-92757baed9bf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">told us<\/a>. The fresh funds will help bolster the budget and help the country meet any emergency financing needs. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#3- EBRD could be directing USD 325 mn to local SMEs and green projects\u2026 <\/strong>The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/cded12b1-aa45-4946-b80c-fde4714abb48\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">is considering lending<\/a> USD 325 mn to four local banks for on-lending to local SMEs and green projects before the end of 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>\u2026and up to EUR 165 mn to upgrade the country\u2019s electricity transmission grid. <\/strong>The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is also considering providing <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/8cfa7f13-5757-4c41-a463-99de419751cf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">a sovereign loan of up to EUR 165 mn<\/a> for on-lending to the state-owned Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC). <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#4- IFC to help finance our MSMEs:<\/strong> The International Financial Corporation (IFC) will provide state-owned Banque Misr with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/475bae28-03b7-410c-b041-c48442c4aff0\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">a USD 234 mn loan<\/a> for on-lending to privately-owned micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with half of the loan earmarked for women-led businesses. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#5- <\/strong><strong>El Sewedy copper unit lands EBRD loan:<\/strong> Elsewedy Electric subsidiary United Metals Company (UMC) <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/d7224f26-012d-4640-b734-ac52d119c952\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">will receive<\/a> a USD 50 mn loan from the EBRD to finance its working capital. The loan will help UMC\u2019s hard-currency working capital needs, supporting its ability to import important raw materials like copper cathodes. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>AS WELL AS A PRIVATIZATION UPDATE-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Shell and China\u2019s North Petroleum want a piece of Wataniya: <\/strong>Shell Oil has <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ed23d6b6-3314-4600-8e5c-af1f5ef906a4\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ed23d6b6-3314-4600-8e5c-af1f5ef906a4\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">teamed up<\/a> with an unnamed investor owned by the Saudi government to target a stake in the military-owned filling station operator Wataniya. China\u2019s North Petroleum also submitted an offer. The Sovereign Fund of Egypt is working to sell at least 10% \u2014 and potentially as much as 100% \u2014 of Wataniya as part of the state\u2019s privatization program. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Six companies are now reportedly in the running:<\/strong> Taqa Arabia, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), and Saudi firm Petromin have all reportedly submitted offers for the Wataniya stake. This Native American tribe grew wealthy as their land was oil rich and granted them headrights: Ownership of the land and the ability to use the wealth propagated from this oil. Almost in retaliation, non-natives used methods to control this wealth: The Osage cannot drive, must attend church, and cannot withdraw their own money without non-native permission. But some money-hungry non-native members of the community took it a step further: Marry their women, kill them off to inherit their wealth, and then marry more of them to get more land under their control. And repeat. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Aside from DiCaprio\u2019s transformation into Ernest Burkhart, Mollie Burkhart (Lily <\/strong><strong>Gladstone) is another one to watch.<\/strong> Her near stoic face, posture, transition to Osage language were captivating on the big screen. Robert De Niro\u2019s version of William \u201cKing\u201d Hale was as expected, he brought nothing new to the table, but it could not have been played by anyone else but him. His relatable tale connected with the masses and actions caused a spike in the stock value, the repercussions of which led to massive backlash for several hedge funds. The incident was read as a retaliation against the unethical practice of short-selling, where a trader bets on a business\u2019 decline. It also symbolized the opening up of the stock market, which was previously controlled by the extremely wealthy and privileged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The mostly young ensemble cast work together very nicely.<\/strong> Paul Dano as the lovable, your-next-door-neighbor-couch-potato\/geek who strikes gold felt genuine and relatable. Meanwhile, his deadbeat brother Kevin (Pete Davidson), who spends most of his time ridiculing his brother\u2019s life or delivering pizzas, added to the film\u2019s humor.
