Nassef Sawiris\u2019 departure from the UK and the shuttering of the <\/strong>London branch of his private investment firm NNS Group got ink in <\/strong>Bloomberg<\/a><\/strong> over the weekend<\/strong>. <\/strong>The OCI Global executive chair and Aston Villa FC majority shareholder\u2019s decision to close the branch follows an earlier decision to move his residency to Italy and Abu Dhabi<\/a> following changes to the UK\u2019s non-domiciled tax status that had initially made foreign income and gains tax exempt providing it didn\u2019t enter the country.<\/p>\n

Sawiris isn\u2019t the only high net worth individual \u2014 or Egyptian for that matter \u2014 to <\/strong>relocate to more tax-friendly jurisdictions<\/strong>, with Mansour Group and Man Capital Chairman Mohamed Mansour also deciding to end his residency in the country last year<\/a>.
