Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) <\/strong>Chairman<\/strong> Islam Azzam (<\/strong>LinkedIn<\/a><\/strong>) was<\/strong> appointed as the vice chair of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (<\/strong>Iosco<\/strong>)<\/strong> for the 2026\u201328 term, according to a statement<\/a> from the State Information Service. In addition to this role, Azzam will chair the Growth and Emerging Markets Committee \u2014 Iosco\u2019s largest committee, representing 75% of the organization\u2019s membership.<\/p>\n

Just <\/strong>last month<\/a><\/strong>, Azzam was appointed as the FRA\u2019s new head<\/strong> following the departure of Mohamed Farid to head the Investment Ministry. Prior to his appointment, he served as chairman of the Egyptian Exchange in 2H 2025 and earlier as vice chairman of the FRA.<\/p>\n
