Our friends at <\/strong>Hassan Allam<\/strong> Holding have acquired MetiPro, the <\/strong>engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) arm of UAE\u2019s Metito <\/strong>for an undisclosed amount, according to a statement (pdf)<\/a> out overnight. The transaction will set up a \u201cscaled, integrated platform\u201d that boosts the firm\u2019s presence in water and wastewater operations across the region, Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Commonwealth of Independent States, the statement said.<\/p>\n

Meet MetiPro:<\/strong> Established in 1958, MetiPro \u2014 otherwise known as Metito Water Projects \u2014 specializes in desalination, wastewater treatment, surface water treatment, water reuse, and industrial solutions, according to its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s some history here: <\/strong>Hassan Allam Construction and Metito worked together on a contract to upgrade and expand<\/a> the Alexandria West wastewater treatment plant last year, as well as the Delta Irrigation Water Treatment Plant<\/a> and other projects in Egypt.<\/p>\n
