Damietta has already received the first indirect transit units on the Gallipoli Seaways.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Why it matters:<\/strong> This gives Egypt another live corridor to pitch to shippers moving perishables and other time-sensitive cargo between Europe and the Gulf. It also shows how Damietta\u2019s digital systems, customs coordination, and the Damietta-Trieste Ro-Ro link are being used for more than bilateral trade with Europe \u2014 they are now being positioned as transit infrastructure for cargo flows trying to bypass friction elsewhere in the region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">More gas cooperation with Cyprus in the pipeline<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Could we s<\/strong><strong>ee more C<\/strong><strong>ypriot gas coming our way? <\/strong>Egypt and Cyprus inked a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/pfbid02hEU9aPW566ofmzpaVd3SGCZYT1XgzPvmzQiQgJzb6bgXBX9MKyPx1Janj3hdESR3l\" style=\"\">framework agreement<\/a> on the first day of the Egypt Energy Show, which a Cypriot spokesperson tells <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/egypt-cyprus-sign-framework-agreement-cooperation-gas-2026-03-30\/\" style=\"\">Reuters<\/a> will set the stage for more agreements \u201cfor the exploitation of Cyprus\u2019 reserves.\u201d Another source told the newswire that the agreement allows for discussions over the sale of gas from the Cronos and Aphrodite fields to Egypt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>We should start receiving Cypriot gas by the end of the decade<\/strong>, under <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/egypt\/2025\/03\/06\/egypt-to-welcome-up-to-900-mcf-d-of-cypriot-gas-by-2030\/\" style=\"\">an agreement<\/a> inked last year between the two nations. Cyprus will send gas from its Cronos and Aphrodite fields for us to liquefy and re-export.
