Sherif <\/strong>Elbehery (<\/strong>LinkedIn<\/a><\/strong>) was tapped as CEO of the National Bank of <\/strong>Egypt\u2019s Emirati operations<\/strong>, he told EnterpriseAM. Elbehery brings over 25 years of experience to the role, having previously served as CEO of Onebank \u2014 Egypt\u2019s first digital bank \u2014 and held senior leadership positions at Banque Misr, Barclays Egypt, and Citibank.<\/p>\n

\u201cNBE has big plans in the UAE. <\/strong>We are looking into upgrading our DIFC license to offer a full-fledged investment banking experience,\u201d he told us. A Category 1 license from the Dubai Financial Services Authority is the highest tier of financial authorization, allowing institutions to provide comprehensive services.<\/p>\n

Who will take over Onebank?<\/strong> Succeeding Elbehery as Onebank CEO <\/strong>is Moataz Metawee<\/strong>, banking sources told EnterpriseAM. Metawee, who previously held a leadership position at Banque Misr, is a digital transformation veteran. He will now lead Onebank as it prepares for its highly anticipated public launch. <\/p>\n
