\ud83e\udd59 <\/strong>When it comes to suhoor, old is gold.<\/strong> Sometimes, old can be made new again, and that\u2019s exactly what New Cairo\u2019s latest suhoor spot, Ool w<\/a>Ta3menni<\/a>, set out to do. At first glance, the menu features all your usual suspects: ful, falafel, eggs, and fries. A closer look reveals some peculiar ingredients that have no business fraternizing with the classics.<\/p>\n

Aside from the usual variants, Ool w <\/strong>Ta3menni<\/strong> serves up curious combinations: <\/strong>There\u2019s ful with truffle oil, ful with brisket, truffle ta3meya, pastrami falafel, brisket omelettes, truffle mayo potatoes, and date omelettes, to name a few. We opted for a few of the \u201ceftekasat\u201d and a number of traditional dishes as a contingency in case the former went south. <\/p>\n

Turns out, Ool <\/strong>w <\/strong>Ta3menni<\/strong> knew what they were doing.<\/strong> The ful with brisket was surprisingly a hit, with the meat sauce adding an incredible flavor to the fava beans. The falafel were hot and crispy, and while we would have preferred the truffle integrated more subtly (with the sauce simply on top of regular falafel), the combination wasn\u2019t as jarring as we had anticipated, and we found ourselves mulling a top-up. The fries also paired well with the truffle mayo. The star of the show? Undoubtedly, the date omelette.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll make sure to leave some room next time for dessert. <\/strong>The menu also offers a variety of interesting selections, including batata br\u00fbl\u00e9e, batata lotus, s\u2019mores, and rokak bil laban, among others. <\/p>\n

Ool w <\/strong>Ta3menni<\/strong> offers a traditional street-style experience. <\/strong>Clad in Ramadan motifs, the setup is all about the authentic Ramadan spirit, from the table runners and traditional bright red khayamiyahs to the music that has become synonymous with the Holy Month<\/a> and the food carts, this New Cairene suhoor spot is one we\u2019d recommend checking out. <\/p>\n
