It\u2019s not just investors here in Egypt who are paying close attention to the EGX30\u2019s<\/strong> runaway start to the year<\/strong>, as Bloomberg<\/a> is highlighting to its large readership that the country\u2019s benchmark index is already up 27% in USD terms this year. The business news service notes that this isn\u2019t just \u201cfar outpacing\u201d developed markets, but is up more than 2x against the MSCI Emerging Markets Index.<\/p>\n

At points, Bloomberg almost seems to be doing a sales pitch for Egyptian stocks<\/strong>, noting that a strong performance in 2026 follows a 50% return for USD investors in 2025. Looking ahead, the outlet notes that a strengthening EGP and a privatization push have \u201cadded to the appeal of Egyptian stocks.\u201d<\/p>\n
