Another big-ticket wind project is in the works<\/strong>, with Alcazar Energy Partners having inked a share sale and purchase agreement with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy to jointly develop, construct, and operate the 500 MW NIAT wind project in Egypt, Alcazar said in a statement<\/a>. Under the agreement, Alcazar will become an equity partner for the project\u2019s final development and then assume full ownership and operational responsibilities, while Siemens Gamesa \u2014 which first began the project \u2014 will act as a strategic partner.<\/p>\n

The NIAT wind farm is set to generate up to 2.5 TWh of electricity annually <\/strong>\u2014 enough to power 280k homes \u2014 and cut more than 1.2 mn tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The project is also expected to create around 2.5k jobs during its construction and operational phases.<\/p>\n
