A fuel price increase is never just that, its impact will surely be felt across sectors but experts we spoke to remain optimistic that inflation will remain contained as we close out the year. <\/p>\n

KEEP AN EYE OUT- <\/strong>Alongside the impact of the hike on inflation, we will also stay on the lookout for the government\u2019s long awaited public debt strategy, which Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk now says will be out in December. <\/p>\n

WATCH THIS SPACE-<\/p>\n

<\/a> #1- Natural gas production in 3Q 2025 clocked in the country\u2019s first <\/strong>quarter-on-quarter rise in three years<\/strong>, according to preliminary data obtained by industry publication Middle East Economic Survey (Mees)<\/a>. Production rose by a small \u2014 but welcome \u20141% q-o-q to a daily average of 4.2 bcf\/d for the three-month period.<\/p>\n

But don\u2019t bet on a sustained recovery of the sector any time soon<\/strong>, Mees cautions, pointing to an expected drop in output from the Zohr field till the end of the year. The quarterly gains stem from Shell\u2019s successful doubling of output from its West Delta Deep Marine project, but there\u2019s not much in the way of a development pipeline across the nation to carry on the momentum, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

REMEMBER-<\/strong> Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said in August that his government aims to boost Egypt\u2019s gas production to 6.6 bcf\/d by 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n

\n

<\/a> #2- <\/strong>Where\u2019s the Cairo Airport Terminal 4? <\/strong>President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reviewed progress on the construction of Terminal 4 of Cairo International Airport during a meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, Civil Aviation Minister Sameh Elhefny, and other senior officials, according to a statement<\/a> from Ittihadiya. The terminal is expected to double the airport\u2019s annual capacity to 60 mn passengers, once complete. <\/p>\n

REMEMBER-<\/strong>The USD 4.5 bn fourth passenger terminal at Cairo International Airport, first announced<\/a> in 2019, will be completed within four years<\/a> after securing the cabinet\u2019s approval, Elhefy previously said.<\/p>\n

Also on the aviation front: <\/strong>The meeting also reviewed plans to expand Egypt\u2019s annual civil aviation capacity to 72.2 mn passengers by the end of 2025 and attract foreign investment through new integrated airport investment zones, as part of the government\u2019s broader strategy to welcome 30 mn tourists annually.<\/p>\n

#3- Our green bunkering ambitions have taken another hit, following the <\/strong>International Maritime Organization <\/strong>voting<\/a><\/strong> to shelve its net-zero framework <\/strong>on Friday. The UN body had been readying to rubber-stamp the push for a 20% reduction in emissions in the industry by 2030 and net-zero by 2050 through a set of emission reduction mandates and penalties before the Trump administration began threatening nations and individuals with tariffs and visa restrictions if they voted it through. The shipping body will revisit the legislation for another vote in a year\u2019s time.<\/p>\n

Charging shipping lines for emissions was seen as a central tool to push the industry to <\/strong>seek out less polluting fuels like green hydrogen<\/strong>, which policymakers here at home and foreign investors thought could be the catalyst for accelerating the push to turn the Suez Canal into a green bunkering hub. As of June last year, Egypt had <\/a>signed<\/a> 32 MoUs amounting to some USD 175 bn worth of investments for green hydrogen projects, but the \u201cchallenge is turning those promises into projects,\u201d according to the Green Hydrogen Organization<\/a>.<\/p>\n

#4- Egyp<\/strong>t\u2019s <\/strong>Imdad<\/a><\/strong> inked a strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia\u2019s <\/strong>EMC<\/strong> to set up two integrated industrial complexes \u2014 one in Egypt and another in Saudi Arabia \u2014 according to a statement seen by EnterpriseAM. The complexes will be set up in Tenth of Ramadan and Jeddah 2nd Industrial City. Timeline details and investment costs were not disclosed. <\/p>\n

#5-<\/strong> Egypt, I<\/strong>FC talk deepening cooperation: <\/strong>Investment Minister Hassan El Khatib and Planning Minister Rania Al Mashat met with<\/a> IFC Managing Director Makhtar Diop on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Washington, where they discussed expanding partnership to implement the State Ownership Policy and efforts to empower the private sector. Both sides also highlighted the importance of regional stability to foster investor confidence.<\/p>\n

<\/a> #1- The <\/strong>Aswan Forum<\/a><\/strong> kicks off today in \u2014 you guessed it \u2014 Aswan<\/strong> under this year\u2019s theme of A World in Flux, A Continent in Motion: Navigating Africa\u2019s Progress Amid Global Shifts. The two-day event will gather leaders from Africa and further afield to discuss African-led solutions to champion \u201cAfrican-led solutions that reflect the continent\u2019s aspirations for peace, development, and prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n

#2- It\u2019s day one of the <\/strong>Arab-African Investment & International Cooperation<\/a><\/strong>summit<\/a><\/strong>. <\/strong>The four-day summit, organized by the Arab Women Investors Union in Cairo, will focus on sustainable development, international partnerships, and capital pathways for this year\u2019s edition.<\/p>\n

HAPPENING TOMORROW-<\/p>\n

Investors have until tomorrow to bid for 386 ready-to-deliver industrial <\/strong>units <\/strong>across the country offered up on the <\/a>Egypt Industrial Digital Platform<\/a>, spread across 12 industrial complexes in 11 governorates, according to an Industry Ministry statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The offering includes units ranging from 48-792 sqm <\/strong>for engineering, chemicals, food, textiles, ready-made garments, metals, plastics, and pharma activities. It includes facilities in Beni Suef, Sohag, Red Sea, Qena, Assiut, Minya, Fayoum, Luxor, Alexandria, Aswan, and Gharbia. Applicants can own or lease the units.<\/p>\n

The government is also offering a 5% declining interest rate on loans and bank financing <\/strong>covering up to 100% of the unit\u2019s value<\/strong>, along with financing for equipment and machinery, and the provision of technical and marketing support through the MSME Development Agency.<\/p>\n

<\/a> #1- The International Conference for the Early Recovery, Reconstruction, <\/strong>and <\/strong>Development in Gaza will be held in Cairo in the second half of November<\/strong>, with preparations currently underway, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa said in a call<\/a>. The event aims to mobilize international support and financial commitments to rebuild Gaza.<\/p>\n

Dan<\/strong>ish shipping giant Maersk will also offer support for Egypt\u2019s Gaza reconstruction <\/strong>plan<\/strong>, Chairman Robert Maersk Uggla said<\/a> during a meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Uggla said the East Port Said Port would be a key logistics hub in the reconstruction efforts.<\/p>\n

MEANWHILE-<\/strong> Israel refused to open the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza, after the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt said<\/a> the crossing would reopen on Monday for people returning to the strip, the Associated Press<\/a> reports. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s office said reopening the crossing would depend on Hamas fulfilling its ceasefire obligation to return the remains of all 28 dead Israeli hostages. <\/p>\n

#2- The transport and logistics exhibition <\/strong>TransMEA<\/a><\/strong> will run between 9-11 <\/strong>November <\/strong>at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.<\/strong> The exhibition, organized with the Transport Ministry, will bring together global and regional players to showcase innovations in mobility, logistics, and smart infrastructure.<\/p>\n
