The Korean government and European foundations also contributed to the fund, which can be topped up in the future, Hannoura told <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alarabiya.net\/aswaq\/exclusive\/2025\/09\/14\/%D9%85%D8%B3%D8%A4%D9%88%D9%84-%D8%AD%D9%83%D9%88%D9%85%D9%8A-%D9%85%D8%B5%D8%B1-%D8%AA%D8%B7%D8%B1%D8%AD-%D9%85%D8%B4%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%B9%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D9%85%D8%B4%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%83%D8%A9-%D9%85%D8%B9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%82%D8%B7%D8%A7%D8%B9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AE%D8%A7%D8%B5-%D8%A8%D9%8041-%D9%85%D9%84%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%B1-%D8%AC%D9%86%D9%8A%D9%87-\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Al Arabiya<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>How it works:<\/strong> The fund is revolving, meaning investors who secure projects reimburse the account for project preparation costs, ensuring financial sustainability. It is open to all PPP projects across infrastructure, utilities, and public services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>What does it mean for investors?<\/strong> The fund will help cut down the period it takes for investors to secure the needed financing to carry out feasibility studies for PPPs. All in all, the fund will help boost local and foreign investments through the PPP model.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The PPP unit will launch projects worth a combined EGP 41 bn in 2025<\/strong>, compared to around EGP 19 bn last year, Hannoura said. The value of the projects offered through PPPs is expected to reach EGP 60-70 bn over the next two years. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>DATA POINT- <\/strong>The government signed 30 PPP contracts last fiscal year, with combined investments of EGP 41 bn, across a variety of sectors \u2014 waste recycling, dry ports, sanitation, technical education, and more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>And there\u2019s more to come: <\/strong>Several PPP projects are lined up with investments of EGP 25-30 bn, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>REMEMBER-<\/strong> The Finance Ministry was planning to present <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/cd8320f3-63bf-4ed1-a59c-6cf10ebf8379\/more%253cmark%253e-ppp%253c%2Fmark%253e-projects-incoming%3F\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">nine new PPP projects<\/a> \u2014 including power transmission and wastewater treatment projects \u2014 worth EGP 39 bn to the PPP Supreme Committee in August, Hannoura said in July.
