WEATHER- <\/strong>The temps are cooling and it looks like we\u2019re finally approaching the much-anticipated fall. Today, Cairo is looking at a high of 33\u00b0C and a low of 23\u00b0C, according to our favorite weather app. And for the rest of the week, the mercury will remain below 34\u00b0C, giving us reason to start dusting off our light jackets. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s a little cooler in Alexandria today<\/strong>, which will see a high of 30\u00b0C and a low of 23\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

DATA POINT- <\/p>\n

<\/a> Financial<\/strong> inclusion in Egypt reached 76.3% in June 2025<\/strong>, with 53.8 mn citizens having active bank or Egypt Post accounts, mobile wallet, or prepaid cards, up from 74.8% at the end of last year, according to a CBE statement (pdf)<\/a>. Financial inclusion among women hit 70.0%, up 1.2 percentage points from December, while youth inclusion rose 1.3 percentage points to 54.4% over the same period.<\/p>\n

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Washington, DC, yesterday to demand that <\/strong>President Donald Trump end the ongoing deployment of National Guard troops across the capital<\/strong>. The \u2018We Are All DC\u2019 march came in response to what demonstrators described as an authoritarian escalation, following Trump\u2019s decision to place the city\u2019s police under federal control. The president first ordered the deployment last month, citing rising crime, despite Justice Department data showing violent crime in the capital fell to a 30-year low in 2024.<\/p>\n

Next stop: Chicago:<\/strong> Trump has signaled that Chicago could be next, warning in a post on Truth Social<\/a> that the city would \u201cfind out why it\u2019s called the Department of WAR.\u201d The post followed an executive order issued Friday that officially renames the Department of Defense the Department of War \u2014 its pre-1947 title. The Israeli army said deliveries will be coordinated with the UN and other aid groups, while its Arabic-language spokesperson has called on Palestinians to move to the designated zone.
