All 67 relevant government entities were contacted and have sent all fees and stamps they collect, according to our source.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The inventory was done ahead of a Finance Ministry and Investment Ministry plan to <\/strong><strong>replace the myriad and often confusing set of fees with a single unified additional tax on net income. <\/strong>Following three months of study, this move sets the stage for Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk and Investment Minister Hassan Al-Khatib to meet and finalize a decision on the new consolidated tax system, the source said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The proposed tax will come at a rate of 3% to 5%<\/strong>, which will be collected with the investor\u2019s tax filing. This is higher than the average we were previously told about in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/am\/2025-04-22\/4\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">April<\/a>, which suggested the additional tax would be around 2-3%, but still well below what many investors currently pay.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Despite the reduction in fees, officials think the new plan could double its annual <\/strong><strong>turnover ra<\/strong><strong>te,<\/strong> as the new system will encourage more investment and help projects increase earnings, a government source told us in April.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>AND IN OTHER NEWS<\/strong>- We finally have an opening date for the Grand Egyptian Museum, now set to open on 1 November, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/pfbid0eC5AKH71fbergqBh4HZXQuvty6xRw9gfZoEXS3YCCdR6KCiHC7tnfWXMSY3bmSAnl\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a>.
