Trump doubles down on GERD remarks:<\/strong> Trump has once again weighed in on the GERD dispute, saying Ethiopia \u201cbuilt the dam with US money largely,\u201d adding that \u201cit doesn\u2019t allow much water going into the Nile River,\u201d Trump told GOP senators yesterday (watch, runtime: 17:52<\/a>). Trump described the GERD as \u201cone of the largest dams in the world\u201d and said, \u201cIt should\u2019ve never happened the way it happened.\u201d The topic has been getting a lot of attention from Trump as of late, with the US president making similar comments<\/a> last week, when he called the GERD a \u201cbig problem\u201d and stressed the Nile\u2019s vital importance to Egypt.<\/p>\n

An end to the dispute? <\/strong>Ala Masouleety\u2019s Ahmed Moussa weighed in on Trump\u2019s remarks, saying the US president stressed that \u201cthe dispute will be solved soon\u201d \u2014 though he gave no timeline for a resolution (watch, runtime: 4:09<\/a>).<\/p>\n

AND- US, UK ease travel advisories on Egypt:<\/strong> The US State Department has upgraded its travel advisory for Egypt to Level 2<\/a> \u2014 \u201cexercise increased caution\u201d \u2014 placing it on par with destinations like France and Germany. The UK Foreign Office also revised its guidance, citing the nearly 1 mn Brits who visit Egypt each year as a reflection of the country\u2019s stability and safety, according to a Foreign Ministry statement<\/a>. <\/p>\n
