? <\/strong>Morgan Gillory is a single mom who works two jobs<\/strong> \u2014 who definitely loves her kids and never stops hustling. Reba McEntire references aside, let\u2019s get you acquainted with one of the best crime series streaming now. Based on popular French television series HPI<\/a>, High Potential<\/a> follows Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson), a middle-class mother who works night shifts as a cleaner \u2014 but that\u2019s not the only thing she does. Gillory works at her local police department, where she just so happens to have the ability to solve crimes in mere minutes.<\/p>\n

When Morgan is caught \u201ctampering\u201d with a sensitive case, she\u2019s brought in for <\/strong>questioning<\/strong>. It doesn\u2019t take the folks in charge long, however, to realize she actually managed to solve a hitherto unsolvable case. Initially brushed off as a lucky guess, the department takes Gillory seriously when she solves yet another crime just by one glance at crime footage. Turns out, she\u2019s a high potential intellectual \u2014 with an IQ that\u2019s tenfold the average.<\/p>\n

Gillory is promptly offered a consultant position within the department<\/strong>, and is paired up with detective Karadek (Daniel Sunjata), who seemingly hates her guts \u2014 though that doesn\u2019t last long as the duo begin to find their rhythm. As the episodes progress, Karadek, Gillory, and their team begin cracking down on the city\u2019s toughest criminals, and one by one, they fall victim to Gillory\u2019s brains \u2014 until one case stops them dead in their tracks.<\/p>\n

What makes High Potential different is that you\u2019ll never guess what\u2019s happening<\/strong>. The most innocuous of clues prove detrimental, and the most damning prove irrelevant. The writers exerted tremendous effort and went to great lengths to come up with cases that\u2019ll have you wondering: \u201chow does one even think of that?\u201d The 13-episode series has no filler episodes, with each covering a different case, all while tying in to other character-driven plotlines. Greenlit for a second season, High Potential is set to return later this year. <\/p>\n
