THE BIG STORY TODAY-<\/p>\n

MPs will discuss introducing the stamp tax on EGX transactions when the House is <\/strong>back in session next month<\/strong>, unnamed sources told Al Borsa<\/a>. Representatives from the finance and investment ministries and the EGX will soon meet to discuss the details before presenting the amendments to the cabinet and then the House following the cabinet\u2019s approval. <\/p>\n

REMEMBER-<\/strong> A government source told EnterpriseAM earlier this year<\/a> that the long-awaited and repeatedly delayed capital gains tax on EGX transactions may never come, with the cabinet having held discussions over alternatives to it \u2014 particularly a stamp tax on EGX transactions.<\/p>\n

The international pages remain fixated on the Trump administration\u2019s move to send 700 <\/strong>US Marines to Los Angeles <\/strong>in response to anti-immigration raid protests. While the protests carry on, US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem vowed to carry out more operations targeting suspected immigration violators. <\/p>\n
