Chinese b<\/strong>ag and luggage manufacturer Comfily Hong Kong will open a USD 20 mn <\/strong>factory <\/strong>in the Qantara West Industrial Zone<\/strong> by the end of 2026<\/strong> under a contract inked with the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), according to a statement<\/a> from the zone. The factory is estimated to generate some 2k direct jobs.<\/p>\n

Export is the name of the game, w<\/strong>ith 80% of the 22 mn pieces of expected annual output earmarked for <\/strong>customers overseas.<\/strong> The project will primarily manufacture luggage, alongside associated bags, fabric materials, and accessories.<\/p>\n

Comfily\u2019s si<\/strong>ster company Hangzhou Henneway Travel Goods is also in the process of <\/strong>setting up a Qantara West project<\/strong>, with the company \u2014 whose client bands include Samsonite, Swissgear, Travelite, and Delsey \u2014 currently building a USD 50 mn luggage factory that is set to officially begin operations in 1Q 2026.<\/p>\n
