The sixth and final season of The Handmaid\u2019s Tale is everything (most) fans wanted. <\/strong>June Osborne (Elizabeth Moss) returns to the screen with quite the flaming vengeance, determined to take down Gilead, the country that held her \u2014 and still holds her daughter \u2014 prisoner.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve been sent good weather. <\/strong>The sixth season of The Handmaid\u2019s Tale picks up right where season five left off, down to the very scene \u2014 though three years had passed between the release of both seasons, as avid viewers would be quick to remind you. The season kicks off strong with tensions running high between June and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) \u2014 triggering a chain of anxiety-inducing events that ultimately lead to Serena\u2019s return to Gilead\u2026 or rather, a more \u201clenient\u201d version of the totalitarian patriarchal theocracy keeping women and children prisoners.<\/p>\n

There aren\u2019t any filler scenes. <\/strong>With just 10 episodes left to wrap up the 2017 Hulu Drama, every scene in the season delivers a much-needed revelation. The season \u2014 while hallmarked by the severely disturbing scenes we\u2019ve come to expect of the show \u2014 proves difficult to not binge. With every episode ending on a high note, the show keeps you on the edge of your seat and reaching for the remote to play the episode after.<\/p>\n

Praise be. <\/strong>Moss delivers an exemplary performance as June Osborne in season six, but Madeline Brewer (Janine) shined the brightest this season. The entire cast appears to have made use of the show\u2019s three-year hiatus, seeing as everyone delivered stellar performances all around \u2014 we\u2019re looking at you, Ann Dowd.<\/p>\n

Nolite te bastardes carborundorum \u2014 Don\u2019t let the bastards grind you down. <\/strong>And June Osborne certainly did not. Though plans often went awry, our crew of Mayday rebels don\u2019t give up so easily. As certain revolutionary plans come into fruition, the season reaches its dramatic zenith on its 9th episode \u2014 which is aptly the top-rated episode of the season, with the finale providing closure on our favorite characters \u2014 a few of whom might not make it out alive, but we\u2019ll keep our mouths sealed. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s\u2026 more? <\/strong>Following the series finale, a number of fans took to social media to let their frustrations known regarding the obscure fates of a select few, yet were quickly reminded that this is not exactly the end of The Handmaid\u2019s Tale. Though curtains did indeed fall on the main series, the spin-off show, The Testaments, \u2014 based on Margaret Atwood\u2019s sequel novel of the same name \u2014 is already in the works. Blessed be.<\/p>\n
