The first of t<\/strong>hree additional r<\/strong>egasification units made port in Egypt<\/strong>, with Energos Power, owned by the US-based New Fortress Energy, arriving at Alexandria Port\u2019s Tahya Misr terminal yesterday, according to a statement<\/a> from the Oil Ministry. The regasification unit, which has a capacity of 174k cubic meters of gas, will help regasify LNG shipments coming our way as the high-demand summer months start rolling in following an agreement with previous lease holders Germany<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Energos Power will soon join the already docked 750 mcf\/d-Hoegh Galleon in Ain Sokhna<\/strong> and be followed soon by the 750 mcf\/d-Energos Eskimo, currently<\/a> in Jordan\u2019s Aqaba, and a floating storage regasification unit from Turkish state-owned energy firm BOTAS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

REMEMBER-<\/strong> The government is preparing for a surge in demand over the summer months, which has led the country <\/a>to target importing 155-160 shipments of LNG<\/a> this year to close the gap between demand and supply. Adding pressure to keep the lights on \u2014 and for Egypt to potentially overprepare \u2014 are <\/a>repeated pledges<\/a> from the government that the dreaded days of blackouts won\u2019t return.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
