L<\/strong>ocal ph<\/strong>a<\/strong>rma player Rameda saw its net income rise 43% y-o-y to EGP 86 mn in 1Q <\/strong>2025<\/strong>, according to the company\u2019s latest earnings release (pdf)<\/a>. Rameda\u2019s revenues rose 90% y-o-y to reach EGP 866 mn during the quarter. <\/p>\n

Driving the growth <\/strong>was a 89% y-o-y jump in private sales to EGP 638.5 mn, a 57% rise in toll manufacturing revenue to EGP 55 mn, and 299% y-o-y growth in tender awards to EGP 116.8 mn. The pharma player also recorded a modest rise in export revenues, which came in at EGP 55.4 mn, marking a 4% y-o-y jump.<\/p>\n

Price increases played a part: <\/strong>\u201cThis robust growth was driven by both volume and pricing increases compared to the previous year,\u201d the report read. The company had received the green light to hike prices by 40-50% across its products in 2024.<\/p>\n

What they said: <\/strong>\u201cWhile we delivered excellent results in terms of sales, we also saw higher interest expense, a result of increasing our debt levels to support working capital needs and to complete our largest acquisition to date, Sugarlo.
