MANUFACTURING-<\/p>\n

Breaking ground on Hisense\u2019s manufacturing facility: <\/strong>Chinese electronics and household appliance manufacturer Hisense<\/a> and UAE\u2019s FBB Tech began construction of their USD 38 mn new electronic devices manufacturing facility in the China-Egypt Teda trade zone in Ain Sokhna, according to a statement<\/a>. We first heard about the project back in August<\/a> of last year, when it was one of three joint projects announced by the Emirati side. <\/p>\n

The details:<\/strong> The project aims to produce 1 mn units annually, with 30% of its output allocated for the local market and 70% set to be exported to Europe and North and East Africa. <\/p>\n

ENERGY- <\/p>\n

Production from<\/strong> E<\/strong>ni\u2019s Noor field set to go live by mid-2026:<\/strong> Italian energy player Eni plans to begin producing 100 mn cubic feet per day (cf\/d) of gas from its Noor field<\/a> off Egypt\u2019s northern coast by mid-2026, two unnamed government officials told Asharq Business<\/a>. Eni is also planning to invest USD 80 mn to drill a new well in the field, with stakeholders set to conduct further seismic surveys later this year to further elucidate the size of gas reserves in the area. Eni holds a 40% stake in the field, BP a 25% stake, Mubadala Energy a 20% stake, and Tharwa Petroleum Company a 15% stake.<\/p>\n

ICYMI- <\/strong>Eni resumed drilling operations<\/a> at the Zohr gas field \u2014 Egypt\u2019s largest and the Mediterranean's largest-ever find \u2014 late last month after the Saipem drillship arrived in Egyptian waters. <\/p>\n

OUTSOURCING-<\/p>\n

Global customer <\/strong>service giant <\/strong>TTEC expanded its Egypt presence with <\/strong>a new site in <\/strong>Maadi Technology Park<\/strong>, the company said in a statement<\/a>. The expansion comes after only a year since the American company first set up shop in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cEgypt's multilingual workforce and strategic location make it an ideal hub<\/strong> for delivering world-class, AI-enhanced customer experience solutions worldwide,\u201d said TTEC Engage President John Abou. TTEC is not alone in its recent interest in the country\u2019s potential as an outsourcing hub, with the number of outsourcing companies operating out of Egypt increasing 181.3%<\/a> over the last three years.<\/p>\n
