CLIMATE FINANCE-<\/p>\n

IFC, CIB c<\/strong>ollaborate<\/strong> to help reduce emissions in Egypt: <\/strong>The International Finance Corporation (IFC) partnered with the CIB to reduce carbon emissions and boost green financing in Egypt especially, according to a statement (pdf)<\/a>. The partnership will see the IFC\u2019s climate advisory program assist the CIB in supporting its clients in carbon-intensive industries, including oil and gas, transport, and real estate, slash their emissions. <\/p>\n

M&A-<\/p>\n

Osool E<\/strong>SB\u2019s board approved Abu Dhabi-based Amass Investments<\/strong>\u2019 <\/strong>offer to acquire a<\/a><\/strong>EGP 100 mn stake<\/a><\/strong> in the EGX-listed brokerage firm through capital increase, according to an EGX filing (pdf)<\/a>. Osool will appoint an independent financial advisor to prepare a fair value study for the company.<\/p>\n

Remember: <\/strong>The Emirati firm earlier this month submitted a binding offer for the stake. <\/p>\n

LOGISTICS- <\/p>\n

Egytrans, SCZone, and Nafith partner on smart truck yard:<\/strong> The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has signed a contract with transport and logistics players Egytrans<\/a> and Nafith International<\/a> to develop a smart truck yard in West Port Said Port at an investment cost of EGP 250 mn<\/a>, according to a press release (pdf)<\/a>. The 114k sqm project is set to streamline trucking processes, alleviate congestion and boost operational efficiency via automated gates, smart container identification, and data integration.<\/p>\n

A new JV: <\/strong>The project will be developed and operated by a JV dubbed Nafith Masr. The JV will have a EGP 60 mn capital, with Nafith holding a 70% stake and Egytrans holding the remaining 30%, according to an EGX disclosure (pdf)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

CAPITAL MARKETS-<\/p>\n

Capital Med to list on the EGX?<\/strong> Badr City\u2019s medical city Capital Med is planning to make its EGX debut through a direct listing in 1H 2025, Al Borsa<\/a> reports citing unnamed sources. The company will then move forward with a capital increase to fund the construction of the new phase of the medical city. Al Ahly Pharos will act as the financial advisor and offering manager for the listing. <\/p>\n

AUTOMOTIVE- <\/p>\n

State-owned <\/strong>El Nasr<\/a><\/strong>Automotive<\/a><\/strong> will begin assembling passenger cars locally in <\/strong>3Q 2025<\/strong>, Al Shorouk<\/a> quotes Public Enterprises Minister Mohamed El Shimi as saying. El Nasr Automotive restarted operations<\/a> in November after a 15-year hiatus, delivering its first batch of electric 49-passenger buses in partnership with China\u2019s Yutong to Transport Ministry-affiliated companies. That same month, the automaker announced a JV with Al Safy Group<\/a> to assemble global car brands for the local market and other North African countries. The JV plans to launch three locally assembled models by mid-2025.<\/p>\n
