?<\/strong> The misadventures of three scammers.<\/strong> Directed by Tamer Mohsen and written by Eyad Saleh, Faqret El Saher<\/a> is a mini-series \u2014 eight episodes long, to be exact \u2014 with a plot reminiscent of international scam films, but with an Egyptian twist.<\/p>\n

Childhood friends to partners in crime:<\/strong> Mix (Taha Desouky), Alfy (Ali Kassem), and Lama (Asmaa Galal) are three childhood friends that went to the same school, lived in the same neighborhood, and have a shared passion for \u2014 you guessed it \u2014 fraud. The three friends reunite years after graduating from university and begin plotting a small-scale scam to get together some cash. After pulling off the scam, the friends decide to double down on the life of crime and use some of their ill-gotten gains to scale up their operations. Things go south, though, and the three pals suddenly find themselves involved with a money laundering gang.<\/p>\n

The series is interesting and manages to grab the viewer\u2019s attention from the first <\/strong>episode til the very last <\/strong>\u2014 which isn\u2019t a surprise given Tamer Mohsen\u2019s stellar resume, which includes Newton's Cradle and Hatha Al Masaa. The casting choices were perfect considering the chemistry that Desouky, Kassem, and Galal have as the three protagonists. As with any storyline, the events clearly favor the protagonists, who seem almost impossible to outsmart, but the narrative and quick pacing still make it an intriguing watch that you can binge in one sitting. <\/p>\n
