Last <\/strong>night\u2019s<\/strong> talk shows zeroed in on Israeli airstrikes on Syria <\/strong>\u2014 with the Israeli military claiming to have wiped out around 70% of Syria\u2019s military capabilities, including army bases, the naval fleet, and air defense systems, the Times of Israel<\/a> reports. <\/p>\n

However, there was little to no sympathy for Assad on the airwaves<\/strong>, with political thinker Mostafa El Feki telling that Sherif Amer that \u201cthe oppressive Bashar al-Assad regime is not to be mourned, as it hasn\u2019t fired a single shot at Israel since 1973\u201d (watch, runtime at 21:58<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe United States had no prior knowledge of Israel\u2019s intention to launch military strike<\/strong>s on Syria,\u201d <\/strong>said Michael Mitchell, the regional spokesperson for the U.S. State Department told Sherif Amer (watch, runtime 6:01<\/a>). \u201cIsrael did not notify us of its intention to carry out the strikes,\u201d Mitchell added.<\/p>\n
