China\u2019s automotive footprint in the country continues to grow: <\/strong>Al Mansour Automotive is partnering with China\u2019s state-owned SAIC and another unnamed partner to establish a factory for assembling both traditional and electric cars for SAIC-owned brand MG in Egypt, company CEO Ankush Arora told Asharq Business<\/a>. The factory is expected to begin production within the next two years.<\/p>\n

The two have been working together for some while now: <\/strong>Al Mansour sec<\/a>ured the rights<\/a> to be MG\u2019s exclusive distributor back in 2018. Just a year after this, we first heard<\/a> about Al Mansour Automotive\u2019s plans to produce MG-badged vehicles in partnership with MG Motor parent company SAIC.<\/p>\n

Chinese automakers are more and more looking towards Egypt: <\/strong>In just this month alone, we\u2019ve heard that FAW Group is re-entering the Egyptian market<\/a> in 1Q 2025, Chery International subsidiaries Omoda and Jaecoo are in talks<\/a> to enter the Egyptian market, an El Nasr Automotive and El Safy Group JV will begin producing three models<\/a> for an unnamed Chinese automaker, Chery subsidy Exeed officially launched<\/a> local assembly, Al Nasr Automotive delivered its first batch<\/a> of buses in partnership with Yutong, Jinbei will soon assemble<\/a> its models locally, and an unnamed Chinese company is looking to set up<\/a> a USD 360 mn tire factory \u2014 now take a breath.<\/p>\n

AND- General Motors, which also works with Al Mansour Automotive as its exclusive <\/strong>distributor, plans to introduce two new car models<\/strong> \u2014 one electric and one conventional \u2014 to the Egyptian market in 2025, the company\u2019s chair and managing director Sharon Nishi told Asharq Business<\/a>. The company is particularly focused on opening up new export markets in Africa, Nishi added.<\/p>\n

ALSO- Nissan Egypt\u2019s exports are expected to grow by more than 50% y-o-y by the end of <\/strong>this year<\/strong>, Managing Director Mohamed Abdel Samad told Asharq Business<\/a>.
