Let\u2019s start with a brief refresher:<\/strong> The spectacular collapse<\/a> of crypto exchange FTX in 2022 and multiple US Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuits<\/a> against blockchain firms in the past few years were heralded by many observers as the final nail in crypto\u2019s coffin. But the industry\u2019s recent USD 130 mn<\/a> foray into US congressional campaigning and lobbying has lately borne significant fruit. In May, the House passed<\/a> crypto-friendly policies, and the Senate rolled back<\/a> some SEC consumer protections \u2014 with both Trump and Harris courting crypto\u2019s support during this year\u2019s presidential campaign.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re still battling for regulatory classification: <\/strong>Crypto\u2019s lobbying efforts<\/a> aim to reclassify<\/a>tokens<\/a> as commodities rather than securities, which would move them from SEC oversight to the CFTC<\/a>.
