Wasoko and MaxAB have a new technical advisor:<\/strong> The newly-merged Wasoko and MaxAB have appointed Mohamed (Mo) El Shenawy (LinkedIn<\/a>) as an independent board director and technical advisor, the company announced in a press release (<\/a>pdf)<\/a>. El Shenawy currently serves as president and CTO of driverless car maker Cruise<\/a> following a long career in the tech industry, which has seen El Shenawy found three tech startups and hold leadership positions at global tech giants like Amazon. Elshenawy also serves on Mercedes-Benz\u2019s software advisory council.<\/p>\n

\u201cEl Shenawy will be instrumental in accelerating Wasoko and MaxAB<\/strong>\u2019s technology development, scaling the company\u2019s systems and pushing the boundaries of its artificial intelligence tools and capabilities,\u201d the release read.<\/p>\n

Sitting on the company\u2019s board: <\/strong>Alongside El Shanawy, the company\u2019s board now includes Youssef Salem, Quona Capital\u2019s Monica Engel, 4DX Venture\u2019s Peter Orth, and co-CEOs Belal El Megharbel and Daniel Yu.<\/p>\n
