The Agriculture Ministry is looking to increase the areas where cotton is grown to 250K feddans this season from 131K feddans last season, Cotton Research Institute chairman Adel Abdel Azim told Al Borsa<\/a>. The ministry\u2019s policies had reportedly<\/a> resulted in reducing the area of land producing cotton last year following a ban on all but the highest quality cotton. The ministry is coordinating with the House of Representatives\u2019 Agriculture and Irrigation Committee to amend the laws governing the growing and trading of cotton ahead of the cotton planting season, Al Borsa<\/a> reports.
