New UN secretary general to visit El Sisi: <\/strong>Newly-appointed UN Secretary General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres (the former prime minister of Portugal and former UN refugee boss), will be visiting Egypt, Qatar, Oman and the UAE as part of his Middle East tour, Reuters<\/a> reports. He was in KSA yesterday<\/a>, and we can\u2019t for the life of us find a reference to when he\u2019s expected in Egypt: The UNSG\u2019s appointments page<\/a> simply notes that from 9-20 February, Guterres is in the Middle East and is then due to hit a G20 ministerial summit in Bonn. It appears from the schedule that Egypt is the final stop on the Middle East leg.<\/p>\n

The Central Bank of Egypt\u2019s Monetary Policy Committee will meet this Thursday (16 February) <\/strong>to review rates. Pharos Holding said in a research note<\/a> yesterday it expects the CBE to leave rates on hold.<\/p>\n
