According to CAF, the Lagard\u00e8re Sports agreement was signed \u201cfollowing an extensive period of negotiations\u201d and the only other offer CAF received was \u201cmaterially and substantially inferior\u201d \u2014 and was presented 15 months after the Lagard\u00e8re agreement was approved.
