The recent spate of terrorist attacks against Christians in Egypt<\/strong> is also getting significant attention from foreign journalists. The Associated Press<\/a>, Reuters<\/a>, and Arutz Sheva<\/a> took note of the police tracking down and killing one of the gunmen behind Tuesday\u2019s attack on a checkpoint in St. Catherine. Meanwhile, the Atlantic Council\u2019s Zack Gold tells the New York Times\u2019 Declan Walsh<\/a> that the attack shows that Daesh had penetrated deeper into South Sinai than previously thought possible<\/strong>, which helps the terrorist organization in its \u201ceconomic warfare against the state.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mount Sinai\u2019s monks prayed for longer than usual yesterday<\/strong> as \u201cfollowing the church calendar, which lays down that the Wednesday after Easter is a day for commemorating the martyrs and ascetics,\u201d according The Economist\u2019s Erasmus blog<\/a>.
