<\/a> Legislation Watch (or \u201cThe InshaAllah hour\u201d):<\/strong> The House of Representatives\u2019 Economic Committee will wrap its review of the draft Investment Act<\/strong> on Monday and then send the bill on for a plenary session vote, AMAY reports<\/a>. Members of the House\u2019s Budgeting, Manpower, and Legislative Committees are expected to attend Monday\u2019s session.<\/p>\n

The Legislative Committee has a busy week ahead<\/strong>, with contentious issues on its agenda including the fallout from proposed amendments to the judicial code as well as the fate of judicial supervision of elections. The committee is also expected to discuss potential changes to the criminal code, according to Al Shorouk<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The House is also set to vote on Monday on a 10% social welfare raise for bureaucrats<\/strong> who don\u2019t fall under the Civil Service Act, Ahram Gate reports<\/a>. The Finance Ministry had signed off last month on the measure<\/a>, which will be applied retroactively from last July.<\/p>\n
