The House of Representatives\u2019 Manpower Committee gave a preliminary nod to the new Labor Act on Sunday, Ahram Gate says<\/a>. The committee approved most of the bill\u2019s articles but plans to hold discussions starting from today to discuss pending issues, such as strikes, penalties, and health and safety codes, with business associations, labor union representatives, and the Manpower Ministry, according to MP Mohamed Wahb Allah. The Council of State had proposed 39 amendments to the act in February<\/a>.
