Eritrea says its deepening ties with Egypt do not mean that it will be looking to <\/strong>disrupt the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD)<\/strong>, President Isaias Afwerki said, according to Bloomberg<\/a>. \u201cThe claim by the Ethiopian regime that the relation between Eritrea and Egypt is targeting the millennium dam is unfounded,\u201d Eritrea\u2019s Information Ministry says. The Ethiopian government had claimed that \u201cforces receiving support from Egypt and Eritrea are trying to destabilize the country.\u201d<\/p>\n
