The House of Representatives appears to be moving against raising water prices <\/strong>during discussions of the FY2017-18 budget, according to Al Shorouk<\/a>. The House Housing Committee issued a statement through its head Alaa Waly condemning proposed hikes in water prices announced last month<\/a> by the chairman of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater Mamdouh Raslan. Waly said that any decision by the government to raise water prices must go through Parliament first. He added that the House is waiting on the government to rework the Drinking Water and Wastewater Act, where parliament recommended articles that end raising prices on drinking water.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
