The decline was put in motion by Sadat\u2019s economic policies, and was carried through by successive governments over the course of 50 years. Youssef says that Egypt has enough resources \u2014 in terms of a labor force, factories, and available capital \u2014 and simply needs the implementation of the correct policies to reverse the downward trend.
