Directed by Joe Berlinger, who previously unfolded Bundy\u2019s crimes in Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes<\/a>, this retelling focuses more on his personal relationships rather than his crimes, mainly based on Bundy\u2019s ex-fiance Elizabeth Kendall\u2019s memoir<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The film follows Bundy (Zac Efron) as he charms Elizabeth Kendall (Lily Collins) and <\/strong>becomes her seemingly perfect boyfriend. <\/strong>But as the years pass, his secret life is slowly exposed. While he\u2019s on trial for the murders, Bundy begins to manipulate Kendall into believing he's innocent.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, he turns the courtroom into his own personal spectacle, <\/strong>acting as his own lawyer \u2014 even after escaping prison twice. Kendall is left to grapple with the ugly truth of Bundy\u2019s secrets, which push her to spiral instead of moving on with her life.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s pure true crime, no gore: <\/strong>This film is all about the inner workings and the behind the scenes of how serial killers were exposed, instead of recreating the traumatizing crimes committed \u2014 even critics at Roger Ebert<\/a> gave it an almost full four star rating.<\/p>\n
