El Sisi announced other measures yesterday \u2014 some of which were <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2017\/06\/20\/house-votes-on-income-tax-amendments-hardship-raises-and-pension-increases\/\">okayed by parliament this week<\/a> \u2014 including:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>The <strong>15% increase in state pensions<\/strong> at a cost of around EGP 190 bn; <\/li>\n<li>An <strong>EGP 100 increase in monthly allowances under the Takaful and Karama <\/strong>cash subsidy programs at a cost of EGP 8.25 bn to the state; <\/li>\n<li>A <strong>three-year tax freeze <\/strong>on property tithes on agricultural land;<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>7% annual raise and 7% hardship raise for state bureaucrats<\/strong> under the Civil Service Act and the <strong>corresponding 10% raise<\/strong> for bureaucrats not covered by the act; <\/li>\n<li>Progressive <strong>income tax breaks<\/strong> for private citizens, particularly those in lower income brackets. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Meanwhile, the ministers of planning, finance, and manpower will be holding meetings to discuss <strong>increases to minimum wages for the three months<\/strong> following the start of the new fiscal year, according to a release <a href=\"http:\/\/www.almasryalyoum.com\/news\/details\/1151326\">picked up by AMAY<\/a> says.
